Leadership Development Academy
Overview
NCPN is dedicated to serving practitioners in Career Pathways, career technical education (CTE), adult education, and workforce development initiatives. We strive to streamline and strengthen the Career Pathways message and its implementation across the nation and abroad. To that end, NCPN has created the NCPN Leadership Development Academy (LDA).
The LDA is a year-long professional development program designed to help Career Pathways practitioners develop leadership skills that will equip them to better serve the broader goals of their institutions, communities, and stakeholders.
What is the duration?
October 2024 through May 2025 with recognition at NCPN CONNECT 2025 in Austin, Texas
Who should participate?
Participants typically include, but are not limited to, Career Pathways coordinators, CTE and adult education practitioners, occupational deans, workforce development personnel, administrators, and counselors.How often do we meet?
The LDA meets virtually once a month via Zoom. All sessions will be virtual and will be held 1:00–2:00 Eastern on the second Friday of the month.2024—2025 Dates
2024: October 11, November 8, and December 13
2025: January 10, February 14, March 14, April 11, and May 9
What are the attendance requirements?
Participants are required to attend over half of the sessions to receive a certificate of completion.
What is the cost?
There is a one-time payment of $600, due at the start of the program.What is the program content?
The LDA focuses on defining and developing key skills of a good leader. Topics of discussion will include: assessing who you are as a leader; crisis leadership; how to motivate, inspire, and empower your team; the importance of communication in leadership; how to incorporate creativity and innovation in leadership strategies and leading a multi-generational team, to name a few. Guest presenters will share their insights and evidence-based strategies for becoming a great leader in any profession.What is the registration deadline?
